Restore Nature Now

22nd June 2024 London

Avocet in Parliament Square

Introduction:

Vetwork UK attended the Restore Nature Now event in Central London on 22nd June 2024 alongside 60,000-100,000 others (estimates vary).

With nature losing biodiversity day-by-day, the aim of the march was to challenge the new British Government that will take power on 5th July 2024, the day after our next General Election, to Restore Nature Now.

Peregrine Falcons

A highlight of the day were three Peregrine Falcons flying above us in Parliament Square and over the Houses of Parliament in various combinations throughout the afternoon. Capable of diving at over 200 mph (c300 kms per hour), Peregrine Falcons are probably the fastest ever self-propelled evolved being.

Take action:

Write to your prospective MPs and ask them where they stand on updating the Wildlife and Countryside Act (1981) and bringing in a new Environmental Rights Bill.

Download our Pets and Parasiticides information sheet and share with your vet and pet owners. And read our Pets, Parasiticides and Nature Blog below.

About Vetwork UK

Vetwork UK was founded as no admin organisation, which has allowed us to be flexible.

Our projects, large and small, administer themselves. Some projects employ staff, others are run voluntarily.

We currently have a small reserve of funds, and four Trustees who take forward our current work voluntarily.

We are currently looking for new Trustees, so please contact us if our work interests you and you would like to be involved.
